Abandoned

I thought that said Bumhan. Oh wait, it does.

There's a very old building in Da-dong area that'sbeing boarded up. I saw it before the fences went up, when workers were inside, and it looked very old and filthy.

A projection by Gwanghwamun.

Basement stairs.

2021.

The basement was in bad shape.

I went upstairs looking for traditional clothes.

One of the restaurants here that was left with most of the furniture.

Impeachment sign.

A kitchen.

The prices were sort of average.

The Hanbok rental shop was a mess.

I found a drawer full of accessories, mostly purses.

It seemed more like fabric that hadn't been shaped into anything.

Sleeves?

They had newspapers, including Hankook Ilbo.

Higher up, there was a Dokdo Academy.

The computer had a piece of paper displaying every password related to the academy. Unless they've all been changed, a person visiting here could 100% hijack the entire organisation.

They had a map of the US of course.

The ceiling was leaking here.

Next room over was a worse mess. I think this was a temporary structure built on the roof of the older building.

2007 newspaper? Millie's second birthday.

I did not look around the corner to see the state of whatever was back there: toilet or shower.

Down on the ground floor, there was this little showroom space facing out to the sidewalk, with a door in the back.

Leading to this little room.

I found this sign showing the government had exercised its eminent domain rights on the building.

This was the basement.

Upstairs, there was an art space.

The full quote.

There was a higher floor where I was confronted with this sight.

A pretty prominent location.

BTS just had a concert there recently.

I took a shortcut through a Sand Presso.

They serve sand on bread here.

I got to another Hanbok place.

Here's the front desk.

This is what's here.

I was alone but nobody stopped me.

I found a couple of these devices here and there.

The changing room.

Rental prices.

One of the "premium" hats was here.

I tried it on.

A couple abandoned chairs.

A grandfather clock.

On one floor, I found bags of fabrics.

I tried on a dress.

I had to go down a floor or two to get the hat.

Higher up I found a locker with an NBC News sticker.

The ball was a little intimidating.

The skeleton less so somehow.

On the top floor, I found this office.

Doors here were locked with this device.

I decided to go down and gather stuff.

I had to go down at least five floors and then up that many again.

It would make a decent lampshade. The Korean urban explorers I showed this to made jokes about it being a Vietnamese hat, but it is a jeonmo most typically worn by gisaeng.

Another restaurant.
