ProtestFrom up above you can get a good view of the area. You can also see how effectively the memorial service blocks off the protest. At this point the protest hadn't moved here yet, but among the people outside the roped-off area, most of them were there for protest-related activities.
I had a quick look around in the other directions.
During the last World Cup I tried getting up onto the rooftop of that hotel unsuccessfully.
Helipad.
Construction on City Hall.
Just as I was leaving I heard a very loud noise. Coming back to the edge of the roof, I saw this mob of people on the move.
The protesters were marching to City Hall.
The protest moved to Namdaemoon and back again.
In this blow-up, you can see a line of guys in military fatigues running toward the front of the protest. It turns out they're this group of (former) soldiers who take it upon themselves to act as protectors at protests and be on the front lines.
