Okpo Land
"Welcome to K-la." Mickey Mouse has seen better days.
First we tried out the merry-go-round.
Next Jung wanted to ride the bumper cars.
Not really sure what this place was.
This word was spraypainted all over the park.
I don't know what you call these things. Motion simulator?
This must've been a train at some point.
This oversized sex shoe was once a basketball game. You can see a bit of the net.
This is on the viking ship ride.
When she got on it, it swayed a bit.
This plastic dragon looks over the city of Okpo.
This tire underneath the ride keeps it safe.
Jung read this sign and says it means "Viking room salon." Maybe a place for bored dads to go when they ditch their families?
Jung thinks maybe after the park was closed, this one building was reopened as a room salon.
The entrance to the roller rink.
Cleaning out her shoe.
I was surprised to find flowers still alive.
Now it's time to ride the spaceship.
This metal floor might look bad, but it's nowhere near as rusty as the parking garage in Bundang, which is still open.
Looking down at the harbour.
It probably wouldn't be hard to climb up through these farms.
This one ride was totally overgrown.
This is the ride that I think killed the little girl in 1999. It's just been hanging there since.
This bear doesn't look like it's having much fun, but maybe he's just thinking about going to the viking room salon.
I think this is the decapitated head of the deadly ride.
She told me her facial expression was not acting. The ride was tilting backwards and she was frightened.
Up on the sky cycles, all of these things have been disabled.
The malfunctioning one.
This is what should keep it on the track.
I wanted to come back a short while later, hoping the shadows would be less intrusive.
The underside of the skycycle.
I think this was a laundry machine.
Back at the ferris wheel, Jung found some writing on the horse.
You have to be careful walking on this thing.
The main roller coaster.
Toilet.
I know that Matt and Nic went out around the entire length of the roller coaster, but that was not something I was willing to do at all.
It was safe to climb up to the actual roller coaster though.
See that blue-roofed building in the background? That looks kind of disused, doesn't it?
I went to the top of the steep part, which is as far as the safety railing extended.
Looks like she was trying to get the roller coaster running again.
This was as high as Jung wanted to get.
Her gloves were covered in thorns from our climb up the mountain.
She dared herself to stand upright.
It sure was scary being this high off the ground.
We returned to the sky cycle, but the shadow had shifted up rather than down as I had predicted.
She told me recently that she sticks her tongue out like this because it makes it easier to breathe.
This looks like it was part of a big slide.
Time to leave.
Considering they had their own mascot, I don't understand why they had to steal the most recogniseable mascot from the most litigious company in the US? The only thing worse is if they had Mickey Mouse playing Enter Sandman.
