Visiting Jung's Grandmother

We stopped at a rest area somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

We ran into the rest of Jung's family there.

At the grave site.

The path was steep.

This is the grave of Jung's grandmother. There is no tombstone yet.

Jung's dad gave his mother a bit of wine to drink.

Also buried in this area is President Noh Moohyun.

Coming down.

Next we went to a Buddhist temple for a ceremony. This woman is Jung's aunt.

The only person there Jung couldn't identify.

This is where we conducted a ritual to feed Jung's grandmother.

The three sisters.

Entrance to the secret Nazi bunker.

Guess which one of us was up drinking until 3am the night before.

The monk spoke an impressive amount of English and was very nice to me.

Then we had a meal of very bland bibimbap.

I finished all my food, but Jung couldn't choke down all her rice. Quickly she switched bowls with me. She said everyone would make her feel bad if she didn't finish her food, but if it was me then they'd just assume I'm a foreigner and it's not our custom to finish our food. The monk came by and remarked to me "You couldn't finish your food?" and everyone laughed at me. Jung owes me.

I have a picture with Jonghee making the exact same face. Now every time I see her I'll think of him.

They look like they could be related.

Jung's brother hasn't changed his facial expression since the last picture.

Jung didn't know who this boy was. We later found out he's just a village boy who didn't have anything better to do than tag along with an old woman who was going to a Buddhist temple for a funeral service and a free bowl of rice.

Looks like he wants to go.

This picture unfortunately blurred as it was taken through a heavily tinted window, but you can see the boy and Jung's aunt riding in the back.
