Constitution DayHere's Buster inside his new home.
Three cats.
For no reason we got a sample of collagen-flavoured coffee mix in the mail.
My shame picture of Buster watching Millie use the litterbox.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
We drove down to the Sindaebang site of Little Nagasaki.
I don't think anybody's home.
Here's another picture of the still inhabited neighbourhood further up the hill.
No idea if these buildings are slated for demolition.
We decided to head back down and take a look at a staircase we'd seen.
But this guy was standing right in full view of where we wanted to go.
This is where we wanted to explore. You can see some of the stairs.
But when we went back down, that guy was still standing there. We gave up and headed back down. Then I noticed the guy had lit a fire on the steps of the smashed out doorway. I muttered "What the hell is he doing?" and he came over to us. He was obviously drunk, covered in sweat, and surprisingly spoke English. The conversation went as follows:
We decided to tell the construction workers about the fire. It didn't look dangerous and they were probably going to raze the area anyway, but it just seemed responsible. Plus it meant we could walk on the lot and see their reaction, but not get in trouble because we were helping them. They hardly took notice of us until Jung talked to them. She said we found a pile of garbage on fire and explained where. The construction worker seemed to understand and told one of the others something like "There's another fire. Go put it out."
Here's a closeup of the arsonist in action. At least I think that bright spot is the start of the flame.
We decided to head to Boramae Park which was nearby. This park is perpetually under construction/maintenance.
Me and Jung laughed at this girl because she looked like she had passed out. Her boyfriend was trying to wake her up. As we passed them, we heard an ambulance coming down the street. That'll wake her up, I thought with a laugh. Then the ambulance stopped in front of them, scooped her up, and drove away.
Some candids I took with my camera hanging from my neck.
A high five.
The lonely goalie.
The sword fighter.
Dirt biking.
Jung rides Mickey Mouse.
Beer.
Not a very nice track.
We found a place to sit and drink.
One riced up bike.
I chased this guy down to get this picture. His shirt says "Abortion: the leading cause of death in America."
