Dongdaemoon

Paul and I went down to Dongdaemoon to look through some markets. I didn't take any pictures because I was sure some watch-dealer would smash my lens.

Anyway, across the street were some strange looking buildings.

There was plenty of razor wire to keep trespassers out.

We took the inside stairs. Up about four flights, I got a good view of the market we'd been shopping at.

Here's looking down the stairwell. And my foot.

This is looking into what seems to be a burnt out apartment. The room in the front is a bathroom, and the other seems to be a living room. There were rat traps everywhere.

I sent Paul down the stairs a bit for this picture.

Here he is surveying the crap that had been piled on each landing.

Some other views up.

This is the whole block of buildings.

The best part is that the main floor is still filled with active storefronts.

And somehow they hung these banners.

Paul wanted to go to the pet market, so we passed by the banana truck on the way. I needed to test out my settings on a living target.

All these animals are kept outside in the cold. Most of them don't have long lifespans.

The subway ticket machine stole Paul's money. I jabbed at it with my knife until a transit officer came over.
