Punky Reggae Party

We had our second DJ night on a very quiet Saturday in Hongdae. It took forever for people to show up, and it was hard to get them dancing. The three of us struggled to get people to move. Sometime after midnight a large group of people showed up, and we ended up turning a handsome profit, but it was tougher than the previous nights. Then at the very end of the night, probably after 3:30am, Verv took the stage and conducted an experiment in bbongjjak. I figured it would either clear the place out or get everybody who was left dancing. Turns out it was the latter, and we all danced our pants off. Next time we have a night like this, I really want Verv to conclude the night again.

Punky Reggae Party

It's only been a few weeks since the last party but Adam's leaving next week so this is his last opportunity to DJ. He did a great job at the last one so this time around he'll be the leading DJ after I warm the crowd up with an hour of reggae.

I'm also trying out a new DJ who goes by the name of Guy Bombardo. He showed up at the last night with an emergency stash of music so I'm curious to see what he can do. It sounds like he'll be playing mostly soul and funk.

And of course Verv is the final DJ. He was supposed to be the special guest DJ last time but backed out because of a bad week at work and was replaced last minute by Adam. I didn't put on the poster what he'll be doing, but I expect his bbongjjak set will be a satisfying conclusion to the night. It'll be an interesting experiment.
