Crossword!
Samia is leaving the country, so I decided to get her a going-away gift that I wouldn't have to pay for. Call me lazy, but I sat down and made this crossword for her. I think I got it to her just in time.
It should be the size of a regular page at 210dpi. You shouldn't have any trouble printing it in Photoshop. Not sure about other programs.
Know who else is leaving the country? Luke from Team Dread. He's going on a big trip back to Canada which looks like it will take him all the way around the world. He'll be stopping in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Turkey, Greece, Rome, and Spain. Unfortunately they couldn't play a going away show in Seoul, but they released a CD before going on a four-month break. It's available for download, if you can figure that site out. Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting this here.
See you in four months, Luke, and about the same amount of time for Samia probably.

Conspiracy Theory Show
I went out this week mostly so I could meet Jonathan, an old skinhead who just moved to Korea. He's an interesting guy, but you can hear from him over here.

Ruckus Army
Here are the photos of the second half of the show. After, we went to the park and sat around there for a while.

There was another big Rux show at Rolling Hall on Saturday. They had worked a deal out with the GMC show, so that you could pay a bit extra and go to both shows.
Last year's show was just Rux playing a very long set with lots of guest musicians. This year's show, they played two sets, with Galaxy Express playing in between.
Today I bring the photos of the first half of the show. The best is yet to come.

GMC Summer Fest
Although I missed Something Fierce, I hopefully made it up a bit for seeing Unroot. The two members (three?) of Something Fierce are both in this band too, so it evens out photo-wise.
We left during Samchung's set in order to make it to the big Rux show at Rolling Hall. More on that tomorrow.

GMC Summer Festival
Today I present Captain Bootbois and 13 Steps. The Bootbois were good to photograph here because there is no barrier, and the crowd was a little more relaxed right in front of Donghyun. I was able to get right up close.
And for 13 Steps, it looked like they were playing with a few older members I haven't seen around in a while. It was an exciting set.

GMC Summer Fest
I had two main objectives for going to this show. The main one was to see the Firestorm reunion. The lead singer of Firestorm, Kyono, has been out of the country for the last few years. He is the founder of GMC Records. I saw his going away show back in December 2003.
My other objective was to see Something Fierce, a band I made friends with last year when they were back in Korea for a bit. Drew, the drummer, is one of the oldest foreigners in the punk scene here, right up there with Paul and Joey and Burke. The main difference is that Drew lived down south, I think in Daejeon, where he spent more time with the MF Crew.
On our way to Ssamzie Space, I ran into Yongook and Seokyoon, who told me that Firestorm was currently playing. I ran the rest of the way there, catching only their last song. Also I had missed Something Fierce.
Anyway, today you can see a couple pictures of Firestorm and a bunch of Vassline.
