Return to Tiananmen Square
The taxi dropped us off on a side street not far from the square.
There's the Mausoleum.
And just our luck: it's closed on Mondays.
Better lighting conditions this day.
In a very short timespan we saw two girls wearing red boots like these. I dubbed them Christmas boots.
Almost Christmas boots.
Going under the street toward the gate.
Inside the gate. I think this is the older, identical one.
We saw some soldiers in there.
I'd been meaning to get a picture of these phones since I arrived.
This guy wanted to take us somewhere on his rickshaw. I don't think he noticed that there were three of us and we were already where we wanted to be.
He found two other willing customers.
Megan took us to Beijing's "walking street." Oh look, department stores and franchises! It was like Korea except less impressive.
There are clock towers everywhere.
It looks sort of like McDonald's.
On the way to meet Nevin back in Wudaokou.
The squatters are a different style here.
Nevin was getting the liner notes for the Suck Stuff tour CDs printed.
We had to wait a long time.
Giant Nevin.
Yes, although he's vegetarian in Korea and the rest of the world, he eats meat in China.
Jung in front of a rub n' tizzug near Nevin's.
To get into Nevin's at night, you have to squeeze through this locked gate.
Ghost Jung.
Working on the CDs.
