Rebel Rescue

This is Robin, the American founder of Rebel Rescue. Yes, she just read her first cat-authored book, and her response is a mix of befuddlement and appreciation.

When we went inside the shelter, the first dog she introduced me to was Cookie.

Here's why he had the closest spot to the door.

Next to Cookie was Indigo.

He was a little cautious, but seemed very sweet.

This is Theo.

Theo has some issues, although is capable of nosework.

I didn't get all their names, although this one was very nice.

We moved from the entry room into this other room, where there were a lot more cages. Most of the dogs here were Jindos.

Though I spotted one dog across the room that looked like a very different breed.

Those are not purebred Jindo ears.

Andy had bitten some of the cage bars like this.

A shiba-inu and a Korean.

This little guy was a...

...Jindo.

I learned that Jindos can have different fur colorations, and this guy was Jindo Hogu.

Careful with Sierra.

This was Cinderella, who I'm told got this name because when she was brought in, she was a different colour, both when they bathed her, she came out this colour.

This one, whose name I didn't get, looks adorable.

Apparently those two get along well.

This one looks sad, and I thought seemed part polar bear.

This one wanted more attention.

Sammy and Matilda.

A boxer.

A golden retriever. I was told its owners were a married couple who were getting divorced and going through bankruptcy.

A German shepherd.

I suspect the various items attached to the collars help with identification, although Robin seemed to know all the dogs personally and had no trouble identifying them.

Another dog who can only be outside lives back there.

Next, we entered the cat area. I found this sleepy elder cat in a cage extension recently installed to a window.

One Greenie later, and the little guy was following me everywhere. The other one, gripping my foot, has just been adopted I'm told.

Robin decided to bring out the toys.

This cat had a rubber newspaper.

This is practically Korea Times quality.

After standing in this room for a couple minutes and focusing on just three or four cats, I started to see more, and more, and more.

At first I only saw that one black cat, then the one in the upper left, and then noticed about five all on the floor level.

I just took this photo, and did not get an explanation. I think I met Wilbur but not sure about the others.

The golden retriever was brought out to meet a visitor.

I told her not to look behind her until after I took this.

Robin gave me a lift to the front gate of Camp Humphreys where there were better transport connections.

And elderly Koreans angrily showing their support for USFK.

That Card & Figure Shop is the former location of Bear Paw.

I took this photo of a closed Cinnabon, but would later see an open one in Songtan, where there were a lot more people wandering around.
