Funeral

This is the bear soup restaurant we would always pass. It's pretty well the only thing left with any character along this street.

We waited for a ride to Goyang, the city of cats.

This is the funeral process.

You could get all sorts of different urns or other containers. It was at this point that I realised that the container I have for Millie is also only an urn for ashes, when I thought it might have those stones. I might have wanted those, but also I don't want them for Buster if I don't have them for Millie.

Other offerings.

They give a piece of paper for writing a message, a string for tying around their paws to signify meeting again, and a little bag for clipping off some fur for keeping. I decided last year with Millie that their fur is theirs, and when they're gone it's not ours to hoard. Also, there's probably still enough cat hair here or there around my apartment.

More information about funerary procedures. This includes the chance to stamp his paws, which I requested.

They asked me to provide five photos of Buster, so here they are in what I think is chronological order.

The circus lion.

The urban explorer.

The author.

The 20-year-old cat who gets to go to university.

This is what's inside. They then sealed it closed. I'm sort of glad this was explained, because I might have tried to open Millie's otherwise.
