Celebration of Flesh

I wandered in the wrong direction and overshot the party. Here's a bus stop. Not sure if any buses still stop here, but possibly ones that aren't entirely internal.

What they advertise.

We love you too Maeve. Isn't Maeve more of a witch's name?

I find this landscaping very alien, but Jenn seemed to consider it as normal.

There's Samgakji in the distance, with a fence blocking the way.

This gate was closed but not locked.

It hasn't been cleaned inside for a while.

Street signs.

One of the many historic sites on post.

The accompanying sign to explain it.

I hadn't noticed before, this is a plaque on it.

Sparky statue in front of the fire station.

Fire training equipment.

Courtesy of Jenn.

Abandoned restaurant.

I don't mess with the no trespassing sign. It expressly forbids entry into these fast food restaurants, while also neglecting some more prominent structures.

This one is still fully active.

The playground combined American rockets and submersibles with dol hareubang.

Two rows, facing each other.

Jenn seemed amused with this composition.

I thought this was something traditional, but getting closer it appeared to just be a cheap light.

I passed by this office, which I used to freelance for.

Oh wait, looks like they still do publish my work.

The one place that was active that we found where we could spend our money was the basement food court. It had a Subway and a Pizza Hut, and maybe one other. I would have been very interested to try either for comparison's sake, but we had a feast awaiting.

I was amused by the MZ button.

Happy Mother's Day

"We Go Together."

Crossing over the bridge.

The CFC headquarters.

Looking toward Gyeongnidan.

Manchocheon looked dry.

Jenn spotted a cat hiding in here.

In case you couldn't see.

The Japanese-era bridge.

From the bridge looking back.

Historic sign hidden by vegetation.

I assume this device is pandemic-era.

This door was open, although I didn't go in to see if the inner door was.

Heavy brush on the ground everywhere.

Haven't seen one of these locks in a while.

Deputy commander.

Commander.

The front door was open.

Inside.

This is Jenn's photo, showing this weird two-lion pillar.

Closer look.

Inside the big meeting room.

I found this sign banning bicycles and mopeds. Last time I got to drive on base, that wasn't true.

More tall buildings up a road.

Crossing back over to South Post.

No Homers?

Not quite a Korean dragon.

The fence separating us from Children's Park.

Another bus stop sign in the diplomatic neighbourhood.

This is the Barbie-themed shirt I missed out on a couple years ago. Still sad I never got one.

Jenn left her sunglasses and tumbler on the table when we went to get more food.

The bonfire started, and I don't recall there being marshmallows to roast at previous ones.

The night starts to take over.

The way out.

The busride home.

Suddenly cleared out.

I caught a guy working in the automated pet food store.
