Abandonments

This place is a lot more curtained off than my last serious visit.

Just a way in, to what is presumably a still occupied residence.

Demolition equipment.

On this side, I found it easy enough to walk in and look at places up close.

I could go up this alley.

This house has some signs of traditional Korean architecture.

With more modern compromises built overtop.

And some older Korean beer labels.

Is this what comes next?

The actual name of the area.

This seems to be just a farewell to customers, and possibly pointing to a relocation.

I'd be curious to go down this alley.

Its entrance was a bit too publicly exposed.

I got into a nearby office building, and found the top floor empty.

I like when MC Escher designs the stairs.

No fourth floor, and no AiNews.

The roof view was worth it.

I went over to Gyonam-dong, where there are a lot of closed buildings awaiting redevelopment.

This was while driving past Insa-dong toward the Hyundai building.

This design for Sewoon Zone 4 was still on display, although it seems like any hopes for it happening are about five years old.

There was a nearby sign saluting the Seosomun Overpass, currently undergoing remodeling.

Also, they sold newspapers!

A pretty imposing cat feeding station.

This dog should be enough to keep any cats away.

Over by the elevator.

Looking into the warzone that is Sewoon Zone 4.

This was a bit south in Sewoon Zone 5.

All demolished already.

Except these two buildings.

Imagine living next door to this. You deserved it.

Sewoon Sangga's guts.

Coffee Donut? I think this is where I used to buy steel wool.

I should check in on this school again.

This is part of the perimeter of Hannam New Town.

Looks beautiful.

On the Hannan side on the east, I saw some demolition.

I followed the perimeter looking for more.

Open gate, but workers right inside.

This building was still easy to get to.

The view up there shows demolition has been progressing.

This portable washroom wasn't there on my last visit.

This pump was sucking water out of the redevelopment zone.

Here's the former Gogi Boys/Phillies II/shortlived makgeollil bar.

The door to the basement.

Upstairs, I saw the kitchen was gone.

The washroom was still in working order. I flushed and the water came back. Does HBC have a new public washroom?

Former stained glass window.

Former bar.

I circled around then took this picture.

But wait, how did the door end up closed?
