Halloween
I went by this ENT clinic, where I knew they had put up Halloween decorations prior to 2022. This year, they had some, though not that much.

Smaller at least. I don't have a photo from before the disaster.

I showed up at Itaewon a little after 6.

It wasn't too crowded yet.

Skunk Itaewon is no more. It has reverted to what it was before.

Christians at it again.

The Korean version on the other side.

In the alley itself.

I realised that Labubu would be completely alien to anyone who died in the disaster.

I left and came back around 11:30. At this point, I wasn't allowed to drive too close, and I could soon see why: the alleys were flooded with people lined up to filter into the narrower alleys. I immediately wanted to get the hell out of here.

Here's a view from on top of some stairs, where you can see people filtering through the gate into the alleys.

Over by Hannam-dong, a church design at a site I had explored before demolition.

At Noksapyeong Square, there was an emergency station.

This guy with the Elmo helmet waved.

I had actually just been photographing this street pizza.

Many of the alleys were now exits, not entrances.

Including the disaster alley.

I decided beyond getting this look, I should go up and come down this way.

The subway was closed.

Making my way in.

Randomly passed Motorcycle Elmo again.

Going down the disaster alley.

There's the door I fatefully popped out of three years ago.

Some of the food left out as offerings.

Messages on the memorial wall.

Exiting.

I passed by this store across the street selling Halloween stuff.

That hulk over there is the Itaewon Jeonmangdae I've been hearing so much about.
