Itaewon Halloween Weekend

This chicken rotisserie used to belong to a certain chicken man who served the Itaewon community (and was over in my neighbourhood on Wednesdays).

I bought a chicken from him, and I believe I confirmed an interesting story: his food truck had been across the street from the disaster site, and he was held accountable for being there, and expelled from Itaewon-no area. This seems to have led him to take his food truck elsewhere before setting up this permanent shop.

So yes, someone was held responsible for the disaster, but it was one of the last people who deserved it.

He denied my request for an interview, so the story ends here.

Back at the alley enrtance at around 6pm Saturday night. I wanted to catch blue hour.

A little more crowded, a little more sloped.

First costume sighting of the night: Barbie.

It's Western Pink Suit Cowgirl Barbie, surrounded by three dudes.

Looking over the barrier.

There's Barbie and her minders, plus one guy having a drink or whatever.

If you see a military or cop outfit in any of my pictures here, it's the real thing, until I tell you otherwise.

This photo was focused on that strip of flower things running down the disaster alley.

Here's the disaster alley from the bottom. I believe this alley was entry at bottom, exit at top, despite the chul-gu sign there.

Captured this inter-faith assembly here.

And also these fuckers.

Another entry-only alley.

That "HIVE" sign struck me as "HIV=" or something like that.

There were people handing out purple wristbands and ribbons.

A pertty decent costume shot that the paper published.

A gu office worker distracted momentarily by her phone, also published.

I didn't get close enough to that guy to figure out what his outfit was supposed to be.

Craic House closed before I arrived. I was later told they had been forced to close by the cops, but I also reached out to someone at Craic House who dismissed that rumour. Though I was also told they couldn't discount the possibility the cops had approached other businesses with that demand.

Purple gifts courtesy of the NGO.

This image might lead me to figure out what his deal was.

Here's a blown-up version.

Ran into officer P.Neis in HBC.

Took this picture of his realistic-looking uniform.

Also met an astronaut.

Oh yeah, and a vampire.

Studio HBC's benefit show.

A Russian refugee scans the menu.

The mosh pit erupts.

First time I've seen Incestrul Lust in a long while.

Here's the Russian wrecking crew, which I'm glad to see here rather than there.

Standing over there with his boot on the stage is Sebastian of the Korean metal band Crux. He had to back out of another set this night because he lost his voice. I talked with him and he straight up didn't make a sound while answering me. Horrible affliction for a metal singer.
