Black Hole Show on Seoullo 7017
There's Sungnyemun from the overpass.

And there you can see the Korail buildings that were demolished recently.

The guy speaking into the mic is Singloud Lee, organiser of Mullae Metal City.

The first band was named Churak Juui, or Falling Hazard, a pretty decent name for a band playing up here. They apparently won a contest at Dongguk University.

It took me a few hours to figure out the stage is called "Jangmi Mudae" (Rose Stage), and that's why there were roses all over, all of them with sharp thorns.

Two paths had to be maintained so pedestrians who don't like music could get by.
Also, of course the weirdest-dressed guy at the show looked across, saw me, and nodded in recognition.

Here's a poster. Quite an eclectic event. I only knew of Black Hole and Yamagata Tweakster before. I could not have predicted which of the other three bands would blow my mind.

Which leads us to Son Su-min band. I was on my phone when they came on, and I heard a weirdly high-pitched voice. I came over to find one member who looked like she was too young for the Linda Lindas. The guy working the crowd was not much taller.

And then from behind her emerged a kid who was clearly much younger, I'm guessing about 8, who was apparently the band's frontman.

I wandered through the sitting crowd to try to get this picture.

This kid was actually a pretty great soloist.

The guy in the cat shirt was pulled out of the audience, and I'm guessing he's an established musician I don't know.

They gave off kind of a family vibe. I assumed initially that the guy on the left was the older brother, but looking back, he was probably the dad.

I think this is the picture I took when the crowd demanded an encore.

Next was Yamagata Tweakster.

Of course he couldn't be confined to the stage.

His coat had a picture of Mickey Mouse and said "A Sewer Rat."

He was doing some high kicks but this is as high as I photographed.

Skirting by.

After a wardrobe change.

People were into it, but not dancing. I guess that's what you get with a non-paying crowd.

Then it was time to begin Hahn Vad's march across Seoullo.

I got in front.

He got this far and then fell down.

This is about as many people who came with us.

When we got back, the crowd was waiting.

As the sunlight was fading, Black Hole came on.

Gotta respect a musician who stays for all the bands, despite any bedtime concerns.

At this point I reset the white balance in my camera.

Singloud scuttles past me.

I hurriedly got this picture of a pedestrian walking by with his dog in his arm.

Looks like some members of the Son Su-min band were seated up front.

The walking animation on Seoul Square.

She can see but I don't know about the kid.

The walking people was a pretty prominent display.

The band could appreciate it.

Plogging. I'm somewhat relieved that word won out over jubgging.

As well as very young people, there were also older people there who appreciated the show.

I don''t know why she was holding up a "Black Hole" sign.

Everyone stood and the Son Su-min Band people were dancing.

Here comes the fuzz.
